Friday evening found us draping the Renaissance Suite at the Marriott Renaissance Hotel, Heathrow. This is a typical function room with great capacity, but with side aisles divided by columns which were not required to accommodate the guest numbers. In order to make the room more intimate, we hung drapes on a bespoke framework between the columns, with amber uplighters to provide a warm glow and draw the eye into the room and away from the ceiling and walls. For contrast and a change in ambience, gels were changed from amber to purple following dinner. Our clients had some great ideas for this wedding using potted plants for exotic table centres (a great money-saving idea) and with an orange theme, what better favour than a Terry’s chocolate orange!
