In this blog post, Stressfree | The Venue Transformers looks at 4 stunning ways to dress up your Barn wedding venue.

Using Loseley as an example, we feature some of our work as venue transformers, styling and dressing weddings at Loseley House and Tithe Barn wedding venue just outside Guildford, Surrey.

Our couples are always looking for new ideas and inspiration for styling and dressing their wedding or event.  This doesn’t necessarily have to be at Loseley House or Tithe Barn and will be relevant to other venues, whether Barns, Country Houses or other outdoor spaces.

Loseley House sits in the glorious rolling Surrey countryside.  It offers the panelled Great Hall, a magnificent backdrop for civil ceremonies and the elegant Drawing Room. Receptions are held in the 17th Century Tithe Barn which is also licensed for ceremonies.

1. Wedding Lighting

The images you’ve probably seen the most from weddings at Loseley Park are from a stunning wedding we dressed alongside Something Blue Weddings, where we hung filament drops in a zig-zag between the beams and the amazing florist All For Love London provided the “zag” to our “zig” with foliage garlands.  The wedding had an abundance of flowers which we highlighted with pinspot lighting, and a break-up gobo projection to the back wall.  Cross-back chairs from Academy Furniture Hire really helped to finish the scheme.

Since dressing this wedding, Loseley have installed filament drops to dress the beams throughout the Tithe Barn as a permanent install, so this is a wonderful bonus if you are hosting your reception there, as the decorative lighting is already in situ for you.

2. Hanging Paper Lanterns

The Tithe Barn at Loseley really lends itself to different schemes in the dining and dance areas, and round paper lanterns (we are a pro-installer recommended by The Hanging Lantern Company) are a wonderful way for you to lower the ceiling and make the space for dancing more intimate.

3. Fairylight (Pealight) Canopies

Other ways you can lower the ceiling space at venues like Loseley including using pealight (fairy light) canopies and Barns of this size and shape work perfectly dressed with either a swag or double-V canopy.

4. Tablescapes and Centrepieces

Don’t forget your centrepieces when styling your wedding and both height and candlelight work perfectly to lift these spaces at any time of year.
